Q&A with rising star Zanna Van Djik

Rising star Zanna Van Djik has developed an avid follower base with her collabs, meal ideas and honest approach to #fitspo and transformation pics. We caught up with her ahead of her debut at London Fashion Week...

Your website is fairly new, why did you decide to set it up?

I've always wanted a website but I waited until I had time to develop one which did everything that I needed - it was a hefty project but definitely worth it. It means that I now have my own little space on the internet to share my passions!

What can we expect to see on it as you start to develop it?

Well it has over 100 healthy recipes on it and I will be continuing to add more and more as time goes on. It also has a blog which I will be updating regularly and people can see my "services" which basically means they can ask me to be their coach! It will constantly be evolving and developing as I grow and my content grows too!

What’s the secret to producing a good vlog?

That's a good question and I don't feel qualified to answer it! My vlogs are nothing compared to some of the proper dedicated vloggers who do it as a career - to me it is a hobby. But I do have some top tips: have good lighting, a decent camera and a sense of humour - be yourself!

What’s the most common question you’re asked about your regime?

I get asked about how many calories I eat on an almost daily basis! I sadly don't tell people how many I eat as it is totally and utterly personal to you, your goals, your previous dietary history, etc etc... The list goes on! I don't want girls to see my calorie intake and copy it without working out whether it's appropriate for them :)

Where do you find your inspiration?

Social media - I find Instagram to be my main motivation. Seeing other girls achieve their goals and make progress is truly inspiring!

For some people it would be a descent sports bra or good trainers, what piece of kit could you not live without?

My crazy printed leggings - I like to wear loud bright clothing at the gym!

We LOVE Zanna's honest approach to Instagram!

What does the inside of your fridge look like?

At the moment it's full of Tupperware boxes with pre-prepared meals in them! I am on a strict diet plan from my coach in preparation for some upcoming events!

Where do you find the inspiration for your recipes? Who taught you to cook?

My inspiration comes from what I see around me. I try and make healthy versions of naughty treats - so if I see a new or interesting cake or bake then I'll note it down and try and work out how I could "healthify" it! No one taught me to cook - I am self taught!

If you had to pick one of your recipes, which is your favourite?

My white chocolate pecan blondies - they're life changing.

How do you treat yourself?

I treat myself with relaxation and time off from work. I'll lounge in a hot bath with a good book.

What does you daily routine look like?

At the moment I'm doing my personal training course so I get up at 5am, commute into town and go to the gym. I then spend the majority of my day (9-5) on my course which can involve learning theory, taking exams or doing practical sessions. I'll then maybe go to an evening meeting and commute back home where I will meal prep, do emails and collapse into bed!

You’re walking in LFW, how will you be preparing? Will you change your routine?

In all honesty, I won't be doing anything special for London fashion week! I am already on a good consistent diet and training regime so I will just stick with it. The only thing I might do is get a spray tan!

What do you think will be this year’s biggest fitness trends?

I can see HIIT staying as a fitness trend - at least I hope it does as it has a multitude of benefits and it's a lot of fun!

What does 2015 hold for you?

This year is a busy one! I have a few exciting events and photoshoots planned; I will also be qualifying as a PT and then beginning my masters degree in Nutrition September! Bring it on!
